4. I’ve never seen so many guns in one place at one time.
Another year, another Dakar, and we took the opportunity to go watch the bikes, cars and trucks roll up to the obleisco for the opening ceremony. As luck would have it my nirvana was rudely interrupted by work, so we didn’t even see what we came for, which of course are the big trucks…
Finally we bit the bullet and hit up Argentina’s gem of nature, Iguazu Falls. Actually, it’s not Argentina’s alone. Brazil also has a share, and there are parks on both sides of the falls where you can walk around, taking in amazing panoramas and getting soaked face to face with the ‘cataratas’. I remember reading and seeing pictures of this place so long ago, and thinking how amazing it would be to see it in the flesh…

Another brief visit to Chile, this time we had an opportunity to visit some favourites from past trips, including Pucon and Dichato. Pucon is as it has always been, a friendly tourist town with plenty of scenery and good restauraunts. Dichato has however seen some changes… (more…)
